Pune, November 12, 2025: The Pimpri Chinchwad City Police have intensified their crackdown on public drinking across the city, booking as many as 232 individuals in the past 10 days for consuming alcohol in public places.
Officials reminded citizens that drinking in open or public areas is a punishable offence under existing laws, and action will continue against offenders.
Police teams have been conducting surprise checks in areas such as dark alleys, open grounds, roadside corners, and near under-construction or abandoned buildings — common spots where people are often found consuming alcohol.
