Pimpri Chinchwad traffic police to conduct vehicle inspection drive

Pune: The increasing number of vehicle thefts, use of fake number plates, and other fraudulent activities are on the rise in Pimpri Chinchwad. In order to prevent such incidents, the traffic police of Pimpri Chinchwad have organized a drive to inspect vehicles through an app created under the e-challan system of the Pimpri Chinchwad traffic branch.

As per information, many citizens have settled in Pimpri Chinchwad from various parts of Maharashtra as well as the country for jobs and employment. A large number of vehicles are used for commuting in Pimpri-Chinchwad city. Two-wheelers are being used on a large scale.

As per further information from a press release of the Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic Police, under the Pimpri-Chinchwad traffic branch, a team comprising of 2 police officers from each of the 14 traffic divisions is being formed, making a total of 14 teams along with 6 teams of the Pimpri-Chinchwad traffic control room, making a total of 20 teams.

All the teams will inspect vehicles parked at several places in Pimpri Chinchwad such as railway stations, bus stations, shopping malls, schools, under flyover parking, society parking, abandoned vehicles and more. Efforts will be made to detect and prevent crimes such as vehicle theft, fake number plates etc.

The drive will take place under the guidance of Vinay Kumar Choubey, Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad Police, Sanjay Shinde, Joint Commissioner of Police, Vasant Pardeshi, Additional Commissioner of Police & will be implemented by Bapu Bangar Deputy Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic and all the concerned police officers and enforcers.

The drive will begin from December 1, 2023 onwards.
