Pimple Saudagar, Pimpri-Chinchwad: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has recently opened a dog park near Govind Chowk in Pimple Saudagar, catering specifically to pet dogs. However, soon, pet owners will be required to pay an entry fee for accessing the park.

Sandip Khot, Deputy Commissioner of the PCMC Veterinary Department, revealed that an entry fee structure is being introduced, with Rs 20 charged for one person and one dog during morning and evening sessions. Khot mentioned that the fee implementation is pending approval, pending a thorough assessment of the park’s usage since its inauguration around two months ago in February 2024.

The park, spanning an impressive 65 Gunthas, boasts various amenities including footpaths, a stage area, three pits, restroom facilities, water points, and a boundary wall surrounding the entire perimeter. Additionally, the park offers separate entrances, an electricity system, ample greenery, and a unique feature called the ‘Celebration Point’ where dog owners can commemorate their pets’ birthdays.

Operational between 6 am to 10 am and 5 pm to 9 pm, the park aims to provide a secure and enjoyable space for dogs to engage in physical activity while fostering a sense of community among pet owners. This initiative underscores PCMC’s commitment to catering to the needs of the pet-loving populace while ensuring responsible pet ownership and fostering a healthy environment for both pets and their owners.
