Pimpri News : Pimpri-Chinchwad’s Pravin Nikam gets global recognition

Pravin Nikam from Pimpri Chinchwad has been recognized for his exemplary social service work and has been honored by British Council and National Indian students and Alumni Union UK on the eve of Indian Republic Day.

He was among the 75 Indian alumni of UK institutions who has received this honour in London.

Parineeti Chopra, a Bollywood actress, Aditi Chauhan, goalkeeper for the India women’s team, and Raghav Chadha, India’s youngest MP are a few others who have been honoured.

The National Indian Students and Alumni Union UK had launched the Indian Uk Achievers Honour in partnership with the British Council to celebrate 75 years of Indian Independence.

Pravin, a native of Satara, came to Pimpri Chinchwad after his father left farming and joined a company as a worker. Parvin’s mother is a housewife. Even in a critical financial state, Pravin completed his studies and applied for a scholarship to study in London School of Economics.

After completion of his higher education, he founded the Samata Kendra to empower the youth of the rural and underprivileged Bahujan community in India.

Samata Kendra is working to remove the disparity with knowledge and how to get representation of the Bahujan tertiary and weaker youth in prestigious universities by them teaching leadership and building skills.

“We are making this sincere effort to present the discourse of our communities on the global academic stage through research and literature through ‘Amhi Samata Center’. I dedicate this award to the underprivileged communities,” said Pravin Nikam.
