Pimpri : PCMC tax collection offices to remain open on June 29

Pune: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has decided to keep the tax collection offices open for the convenience of the citizens on June 29 despite it being a holiday due to Bakri Eid and Ashadhi Ekadashi.

Nilesh Deshmukh, Assistant Commissioner of the Tax Collection and Taxation Department, has appealed to the citizens to pay their taxes. It is worthy to note that property owners are getting a discount of at least 10 per cent and a maximum of 20 per cent if they pay the entire tax by June 30.

Shekhar Singh, Municipal Commissioner, PCMC said as only two days are left to avail various property tax incentives & concessions. Therefore, for the convenience of citizens, all tax collection offices will remain open on Bakri Eid & Ashadhi Ekadashi. Also, property holders in any part of the city are provided with the facility to pay tax at any divisional office.

Accordingly, till now, 2 lakhs 69 thousand 662 property owners have availed the benefit of various tax concessions by paying their property tax. As much as Rs 370 crore has been accumulated in the PCMC treasury.

Additionally, under the Siddhi project,  women of the bachat gat, have distributed 100 per cent of property tax bills for the financial year 2023-24. Deshmukh has lauded the efforts saying that this has resulted in a huge benefit from tax collection.

17 divisional offices and online facilities have been made available to property owners in the city to pay taxes. June 30 is the deadline to avail various discounts. Citizens are thronging the respective tax collection offices to pay their bills. Therefore, although the Municipal Corporation has a holiday on Thursday, the Municipal Corporation has decided to keep all tax collection offices open.
