Plasma and Blood Donation Camp held at Poona Goan Institute
Poona Goan Institute in association with KEM Hospital, Rasta Peth held a blood and plasma donation drive at PGI’s premises on May 10, 2021. More than 40 people donated blood and plasma at the drive which was held as per the Covid19 health protocols.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, President, Poona Goan Institute, Charmaine Ann Desouza said, “Today’s drive saw huge response. A huge unit of doctors and nurses of the KEM were present along with the staff of the Poona Goan Institute today. And one by one, donors in the form of angels walked through the entrance to donate life!
All of them felt strongly about saving lives, which was commendable. Everybody is going through a tough phase but little help can bring wonders. We all need to walk that extra mile and help others.”
Desouza further stated that the drive was possible due to the support of Leo Alphonso, trustee PGI and ex corporator wanowrie, Abhijit C Shivarkar and others such as Benedict Rodriques, Helen Pinto, Benny Dsouza, Janice, Anamika Sarnopant Prerana Kharat, Wynonna Lazarus, Rajlaxmi Nimbalkar and Leena Dave.
