As per further information, the state government has imposed stringent regulations aimed at preventing air pollution.
Three cleaning employees were caught burning waste over the past two days rather than turning it in for additional processing, and the administration punished them with fines and sent them notices. Hadapsar ward received reports of the incident.
The incident was noted with seriousness by PMC’s solid waste management department. It instructed all ward offices to give cleaning staff members strict instructions not to burn trash.
The administration took action against the three staff members who made mistakes, according to a representative from the Hadapsar ward office. They have sent them notices requesting an explanation and fined them each Rs 1,000.
The head of PMC’s solid waste management department announced that staff members are being closely watched and that vigilance has been heightened.
In November, 74 instances of garbage burning resulted in penalties from the administration.
Residents in different parts of the city have been complaining about garbage burning incidents even after civic action was taken.
According to PMC officials, waste burning will cease during night patrols at sensitive locations starting this week.
