Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) ongoing mapping exercise to study the existing infrastructure and come up with solutions to ease traffic congestion has reportedly identified 700 ‘missing links’ on various roads spanning about 520 km across the city.

From less than 100 meters to 1,000 meters and more, these missing road sections include land stuck in the acquisition process. The civic body has started contacting individual landowners to resolve the issue.

The estimate includes 23 villages that were included in the PMC limits in 2021 by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) but are not included in the approved plan. In addition, the development plans of 11  villages within the ERK have not yet been publicized.

As per information, the list of missing links includes three link roads of varying lengths connecting Pashan Road to Baner Road, two roads connecting Warje and Rajaram Bridge along the river, across the Mula River connecting Sangamwadi to Wakdewadi; and 180 m road connecting Kondhwa Road with BG Lonkar Road next to Salunke Vihar.
