The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued a notice to L&T company for doing road digging in Pashan without permission.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Vikas Dhakane, Additional Municipal Commissioner, PMC, said, “Along with a notice, the PMC has fined more than Rs 8 Lakh to L&T company as they were doing unauthorized digging of the road in Pashan near AbhimanShree Society.”

As per further information, the electrical cable laying work of the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology at a chowk near AbhimanShree Society on Pashan Road was completed with the permission of the PMC road department.

After the completion of these works, the road was immediately repaired at the road excavation site. Immediately, after the completion of the road repair, the next day, construction was done at the said place by L&T where the road was newly concreted and repaired to lay the water line without any prior notice.

Dhakane further said that direct action will now be taken if the road is dug without permission.

Henceforth, the information about the license given for digging the road will be given on the PMC website. So, citizens will get immediate information if someone is digging the road whether it is permitted or not. Also due to this, unauthorized road digging can be monitored.
