Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is planning to start a second heritage walk at Sinhagad Fort and Shivshrusti Ambegaon.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Vikas Dhakane, Additional Municipal Commissioner, PMC, said, “Our 1st heritage walk, from Shaniwar Wada to Vishrambaug Wada, has got an excellent response from Punekars. Hence, seeing that, PMC has decided to begin its second heritage walk from Sinhagad Fort to Shivshrusti Ambegaon.”

As per further information from Dhakane, PMC is running the second heritage walk on a trial basis as of now wherein PMC officials are travelling & checking everything for the second heritage walk, right from transportation to planning the walk etc.

The PMC plans on starting this heritage walk by Diwali this year. Several air-conditioned mini buses will be allotted for this activity.

It is worthy to note that the heritage walk from Shaniwar Wada to Vishrambaug Wada is getting a good response. Therefore, the Municipal Corporation has now decided to start another heritage walk at Sinhagad Fort, Shivshristi in Ambegaon.

This heritage walk will be started soon for the tourists and it will be facilitated by air-conditioned mini buses from stands such as Swargate, Katraj, Aundh etc.

This activity will be implemented so that students, citizens and tourists know the cultural and historical importance of Pune.

In this heritage walk, Sinhagad Fort and its historical places will be shown which will start at half past six in the morning. The Municipal Corporation has done the beautification work of Narveer Tanaji Malusare Mausoleum. In order to provide facilities to the tourists at this place, work will soon be done on the facade of the mausoleum in the second phase. Headphones will be given to tourists to listen carefully to all the information. After Sinhagad Fort is done, Shivshrusti in Ambegaon will be shown after which the tourists would be dropped back to their pickup location.

Work will also be done to preserve and conserve the tomb of Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj. Directional boards will be installed at Sinhagad Fort.
