Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) took strict action against several illegal structures in Pune by demolishing them on August 25.

As per information shared by Sunil Kadam, Sub-Engineer, PMC, the action was taken by the PMC building department on Hotel Sabros located on Bhandarkar Road and Law College Road Junction. An area of about 2500 square feet was cleared this time.

Earlier, action was taken against this hotel 3 times. However, construction was being done again and again without permission. Due to this, the police have been informed to file a criminal case against the owner and the driver and the case will be filed within two days, as well as the state excise department will be informed that the liquor license of the said hotel should be cancelled.

Just like Bhandarkar Road & Law College Road junction, a newly constructed shed measuring 100 feet x 50 feet near Vetal Baba Chowk on Senapati Bapat Road was demolished. Tools & materials like a big crane, gas cutter and more were used in this operation.

Similarly, the PMC had also demolished illegal constructions in Bibwewadi on August 23 & removed encroachments on NIBM-Undri Road on August 22, showcasing that the municipal body will not tolerate any illegal constructions, structures or encroachments in Pune.
