In a proactive move to facilitate essential maintenance and repair activities, the Water Supply Department of the civic body has announced a temporary water supply closure in several neighborhoods across Pune.

The affected areas include Kothrud, Law College Road, Aundh, Hadapsar, Kharadi, and Nagar Road. The scheduled disruption is set to occur on Thursday, October 26 and on October 27 the normal water supply is expected to resume, i.e. on Friday morning.

Civic officials have disclosed that the primary focus of this maintenance operation is the repair and connection of pipelines at various overhead water supply tanks.

The affected tanks are located at SNDT, Warje, Chatushrungi, and Pune Cantonment water works. The purpose of this maintenance work is to ensure the continued efficiency and reliability of the water supply infrastructure.

Residents living in areas along Senapati Bapat Road, Model Colony, University Road, and Prabhat Road should be prepared for the temporary suspension of water supply.

Furthermore, residents who depend on water supply from Pune Cantonment works, including those in Kharadi, Borate Wasti, Somnathnagar, Hadapsar, Satavnanagar, and Indiranagar, will also be affected by the planned water supply interruption on Thursday.

While this temporary inconvenience may cause some disruption to daily routines, it is a necessary step to maintain and enhance the overall quality and reliability of the city’s water supply infrastructure. Civic authorities are working diligently to minimize the duration of the disruption, and they appreciate the understanding and cooperation of residents during this crucial maintenance period.

Pune residents are encouraged to make suitable arrangements to ensure they have an adequate water supply during the announced closure period. The civic body is committed to the long-term sustainability of the city’s water supply system and is working tirelessly to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of safe and reliable drinking water to its residents.
