Pune: The Municipal Corporation has expedited the construction of alternative roads that connect the main roads and serve to alleviate traffic congestion.

Out of the 33 alternative roads in the city, six have been acquired.

The alternative routes are as follows: –

The Indian Hume Pipe to Ganga Chowk road will serve as an alternative route to Sinhagad road, which will then connect to the proposed bridge at Dudhane Lawns.

– An alternative route will be provided for Lohgaon after the completion of the 509 Chowk to Lohgaon road.

– The construction of the Magarpatta to Honeywell road will resolve the issue of traffic congestion in the industrial estate.

– Upon completion of the road from Kalepadal (Handewadi) to Ravi Park Society, there will be an option to access the Sasanenagar railway bridge.

– An alternative road will be available for the Vimannagar to Airport road, along with five others.

While talking to Pune Pulse, Sahebrao Dandge, Superintendent Engineer of the PMC Road Department, stated, “The decision has been made to construct an alternative road from Navale Bridge to Bhumakar Chowk near the crematorium in order to prevent accidents. Once the road is completed, the number of vehicles traveling on Navale bridge will decrease.”
