Pune: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd  (PMPML) non-stop bus service’s expansion is gaining momentum as the PMPML has recently conducted a survey to identify additional routes within the PMRDA limits. This initiative follows a positive response from the commuters as well.

As per the information received, PMPML is now planning to extend the non-stop service to more routes. Currently, officials are evaluating around 200 routes for the expansion. The transport department has already identified 20 routes that show promise, with a focus on facilitating long-distance travel within the PMRDA region.

The initiative, led by the CMD of PMPML, aims to reduce travel time for commuters on extended routes within the PMRDA limits.

It is worthy to note that the service was initially introduced on four routes, where air-conditioned buses operate without conductors, requiring passengers to purchase tickets beforehand.

While talking to Pune Pulse, Satish Gate, PMPML’s Public Relations Officer, ”Mentioned that the service will only commence after assessing the response from citizens and finalising the selected routes. Additionally, ticket prices will remain unchanged even after the service starts, and the faster service will save passengers’ time.”
