PUNE: The PMPML Pune Pravasi Manch has demanded the public transport authority to increase bus frequency  on route no 2 (Katraj Bus Depot to Shivaji Nagar bus stand), route no 13 (Lake Town Gate 2 to Agriculture College Shivajinagar), route no 38 (Dhankawadi to  Tanajiwadi), route no 31 (Padmavati to Pune station), 97 (Ganpati Math and Sahakar Nagar bus stand) and 108 (Sutardara to Pune Station Bus Stand).

Recently on 19 January, PMPML Pune Pravasi Manch had conducted a meeting with the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited officials at PMPML office to discuss many issues faced by commuters on a daily basis.

Rupesh Keskar, from PMPML Pune Pravasi Manch informed that, “We have demanded to resume bus services on route no 2 and 13 on immediate basis and considering traffic flow we requested to increase frequency of buses on route no 38,31,97.”

Keskar also demanded bus service from the popular Bohri Ali area. Considering market and footfall in the Bhohari ali, it is economical for PMPML to start bus service from Bhohari ali, he added.

Reacting to the demand, Satish Gavhane, Chief Transport Manager PMPML said, “It is true that after the launching of Punyadasham services, bus services on many routes were stopped. However we are ready to start it after detailed survey of the particular routes.’’
