Pune: The Bharat Flag Foundation has taken the initiative of collecting the national flags. Many small plastic or paper flags are sold during Independence day and Republic day but later it becomes hard to dispose of the flags.

Therefore, the Bharat flag foundation has appealed to citizens to send the National flags to Bharat Flag Foundation to dispose them. Citizens are appealed to send the collected flags to Murudkar Zendewale, in front of Pasodaya Maruti Temple, Budhwar Peth, informed Girish Murudkar, Founder of the Foundation.

Murudkar said, “On August 15 and January 26, many people buy the national flag and parade it with great pride but the same paper and plastic small national flags are found lying on the road, garbage or drains the same day. It is hard to destroy plastic flags quickly.”

India Flag Foundation has taken the initiative to prevent this kind of desecration of the national flag on the occasion of Republic Day. And this is the 22nd year of this initiative. Collected flags are disposed of in a scientific, respectful manner. Brochures and boxes will be provided free of charge by the foundation to people who want to join the campaign.
