The residents of NIBM Undri road came together against Pune Municipal Corporation’s inaction over repairing the Marvel Sangria to Dorbajee Paradise road.  The Pune Municipal Corporation took cognizance of the protest held by NIBM Undri Road Residents Forum today morning and assured to concretise the said road.   Many residents from the surrounding areas also participated in the protest that took place outside Dorabjee Paradise society.

Prajakta Pethkar, a resident of Palace Orchards society said that PMC has ignored the residents of the area which is unfortunate.  “We are suffering heavily due to this incomplete road,” she said.

Another resident of the area, Ravila Verma, of Clover Highlands society stated that it is a shame for PMC that people are fighting for basic rights. “Roads, water is what we are demanding,” she said.

Parveen Tambe, a resident of Natraj Co-operative informed that the PMC had sanctioned funds for this road in the first week of October 2022. “Now, in January, PMC is stating the process of reissuing tender is on. Why this apathy? By now the road should have been completed and open for residents’ use,” she said.

Pune Pulse has been raising this issue since the road quality deteriorated. On January 25 also, Pune Pulse took up the matter with V G Kulkarni, head, Road department, PMC and he informed that the work shall start in February and by March the road would be open for use.

Former local corporator Pramod Nana Bhangire who came to meet the residents assured that the road will be concretised soon. The residents questioned that there are many other connecting roads in the area which are awaiting completion. He assured that a meeting would be fixed with the PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar soon, in this regard.
