On the occasion of Republic Day, the Municipal Corporation of Pimpri-Chinchwad will be implementing an e-waste collection campaign in partnership with various organizations.

Over 150 collection centers will be set up throughout the city to collect electronic waste, such as old computers, televisions, and mobile phones. Since last year, Purnam Ecovision, the Environmental Protection Agency, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipality, and many social organisations have worked together to launch the “E-Yantran” programme at the city-level. This year’s campaign will take place on January 26, 2023, from 9 am to 1 pm.
The gathered electronic waste will be separated. Laptops and PCs that can be fixed will be distributed to those in need. On the occasion of National Science Day, a laptop and computer donation drive will be held.

Sanjay Kulkarni, the Associate city engineer of the Municipal Environment Department, stated that the campaign aims to promote responsible disposal of electronic waste and protect the environment.

Citizens are encouraged to participate in the campaign by dropping off their e-waste at the designated collection centers.
