The Election Commission of India has revised the dates of by-polls of assembly constituencies of Maharashtra. The election date which was earlier declared as February 27, was advanced by a day as class 12 Maharashtra board exam and has been rescheduled on February 26.
The voting in Kasba and Chinchwad will happen on 26th February, Sunday. The sudden demise of MLAs Mukta Tilak and Laxman Jagtap has led to the announcement of by-polls. The results for both the constituencies will be announced on March 2, 2023.

The notification issued by the election commission states, “The District Election Officer of Pune, Maharashtra has reported regarding clash of date of poll with dates of 12th Standard HSC exam and graduate degree exam to be conducted at various Polling Stations of the Assembly Constituencies where bye-elections are being held.”

The notification further states, “The Commission considered the ground situation and all other relevant aspects of the matter, and decided to revise the date of poll for bye-elections to be held in Assembly Constituencies 205- Chinchwad and 215-Kasba Peth of Maharashtra.”

The counting will be held on March 2, 2023.
