The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) is planning to start a tourist depot at Sarasbaug soon. This decision comes amid temporary suspension of the E-bus services to Sinhagad fort.
“People gave a good response to the E-bus service but we have temporarily suspended it due to few issues. Once we get a 7-metre width bus, we are planning to start a tourist depot, where public can take a bus from Sarasbaug to Sinhagad fort,” said Chetana Kerure, Joint Managing Director, PMPML.
The PMPML will be building charging stations at the old PMPML depot at Sarasbaug. It will be utilised for all the buses going to Singhad fort. It is learnt that in the future, PMPML will also plan other tourist activities and utilise these buses.
PMPML in association with Pune Municipal Corporation will be adding 300 mini e-buses. The nine-metre width buses had problems while making steep turns on the narrow road.
