Pune: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has devised a phased approach to developing the proposed 88.13-km inner ring road. In the first phase, work from Solu to Wagholi

(Pune Nagar Road) is being taken up on a priority basis.

This road will reduce burden on Pune Mumbai Expressway and Pune Nagar road according to the information shared by the PMRDA.

Initially, the connection between the Pune-Mumbai Expressway and Nagar Road will be established through the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation’s (MSRDC)ring road. This strategic development aims to alleviate traffic congestion within the city.

As per the information provided, the stretch from Vadgaon Shinde to Lohegaon to Wagholi, known as Solu, forms a segment of the ring road that spans across the Pune Municipal Corporation. The development of this 5.70-km stretch will be undertaken by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). Similarly, Solu to Vadgaon Shinde is part of the ring road that extends within Pune Municipal Corporation limits and will be developed by the PMRDA.

The initial phase of land acquisition has commenced by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) for the villages of Solu, Vadgaon Shinde, and Nirgudi.

The farmers impacted by the project in Vadgaon Shinde have come to an agreement with the local community to provide land for the construction of the ring road.

The affected area in Vadgaon Shinde spans a total of 5.71 hectares, and the project commenced without any issues on 12/11/2023. Meetings were conducted on November 30, 2023, to address this matter.
