Prepare detailed project plan for tourism development in Lonavala : Maha Dy CM

Mumbai, Sep 21 : Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Thursday instructed the Tourism department officials to prepare a detailed project plan within a month for tourism development and promoting nature tourism in Lonavala area.

Presiding over a review meeting held here regarding development of tourism in Lonavla and Maval areas of Pune district, he said that tourists come to Lonavala in large numbers to enjoy its natural beauty and wealth.

Hence, he directed officials to prepare a good plan within a month, comprising adventure sports and other facilities such as setting up of a glass skywalk at Tiger Point and Lion’s Point in Lonavala, for children to promote tourism.

The DyCM further said that since the wind speed is high in this (Lonavala) area, the safety of tourists and protection of the environment should be given priority while preparing the plan, he suggested.

Pawar also suggested that the plan should include a parking lot and necessary facilities for tourists in the area.

He promised to make funds available for this nature tourism project.
