Tax dialogue was held on Saturday, 23rd September by the Tax Department of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation with the citizens.

Nilesh Deshmukh, Assistant Commissioner, PCMC Tax Department, said “Citizens will be benefited by ‘Property Survey Abhiyan’ to enable citizens to keep track of their assets, to eliminate tax disparity. Municipal Corporation should cooperate with the officers appointed for the survey, women and the staff appointed for the survey by giving information about the property to the citizens. We are insisting that the questions asked in the Municipal Corporation’s tax communication should be settled at the same time, and the citizens should resolve their questions and doubts through the tax communication while taking advantage of every facility of the department as always.”

As per further information, citizens gave spontaneous responses online and offline. On this occasion, information regarding property tax concessions, ‘Property Survey Mission’, ‘UPIC ID’ and clearing of doubts regarding property tax was done through Assistant Commissioner Nilesh Deshmukh. On this occasion the officers and employees of the department were present.

In the tax dialogue aimed at direct communication between citizens and officials, on Saturday, the department was ordered to solve the problems of the citizens by providing immediate information about the questions asked by the department. Citizens thanked the tax collection department for prompt removal of doubts, prompt resolution of problems, urgent orders for removal of problems. More than 100 citizens participated in the tax dialogue.

In the current year, three lakh taxpayers have collected a tax of 447 crores in the first quarter, and till date, a tax of 570 crores has been collected. The tax dialogue also appealed to the property owners, who have been levied a new levy of four per cent in general tax on online payment of property tax by the end of September, to benefit from a discount of 10 per cent in general tax if they pay the tax in advance within three months.

Along with this, there are as many as six lakh registered properties within the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation limits. In order to increase the income of the Municipal Corporation, ‘Property Survey Mission’ will be started, through which complete information of the properties will be collected.

Through this campaign, the properties will be assigned a unique property number (UPIC ID – Unique Property Identification Code) by creating blocks through a state-of-the-art mapping system. Just as citizens are given Aadhaar number, they will get ‘UPIC ID’ for property. Due to this, all the information related to the property will be available to the citizens in a single click and will save their time.

Citizens have been provided the facility of keeping their documents together through ‘Digi Locker’ by the central government. On the same lines, the municipality is now going to provide the facility of keeping important documents related to property safe through ‘Property Locker’. This facility will be available through ‘UPIC ID’ and information about your property will be available on one click.

This will help citizens to review their property. The digital privacy of the citizens will be preserved, and the citizens will have the right to make their documents public or not. In-depth information about such subjects was given on Saturday through tax dialogue.

As many as 100 women of women’s savings groups were given the task of distribution of property tax bills by the tax collection department. 100 percent bills were distributed through women. On the same lines, the task of collecting information for the ‘Property Survey Registration’ campaign has been given to the women of the savings groups, and this will get them employment.
