Pune: 10 Beer Tanks Worth ₹36 Lakh Stolen From Chakan MIDC Brewery Recovered; Six Arrested
Pune, June 2, 2026: The North Mahalunge MIDC Police have solved a major theft case involving the disappearance of beer storage barrels worth ₹36 lakh from a brewery located in the Chakan MIDC industrial area. Police have arrested six persons and recovered the stolen property.
According to police, the theft took place at a newly established brewery Tiny Rebel Brewing Pvt Ltd in Savardari village in Khed taluka. Between February 20 and March 30, 2026, ten large stainless-steel beer storage (tanks) barrels valued at approximately ₹36 lakh went missing from the company premises.
The complaint was lodged by Vivek Maruti Khaire, a representative of the company. As the theft came to light nearly 40 days after the incident, investigators initially faced challenges due to the lack of immediate leads and evidence.
Under the guidance of senior officers, a special investigation team was formed. Police examined CCTV footage from around 30 to 35 companies located near the industrial unit, reviewing more than 600 GB of video data collected over a period of nearly one-and-a-half months.
The investigation led officers to identify suspicious vehicles and individuals linked to the case. During technical analysis and questioning of company employees and other suspects, police discovered the involvement of a former trusted worker of the company, identified as Prasad Rajale.
During interrogation, Rajale allegedly confessed to his role in the theft. Further investigation revealed the involvement of others who assisted in transporting and purchasing the stolen barrels.
Police subsequently recovered all ten stolen beer storage barrels from locations in Chikhali, Kudalwadi and Mumbai. The total value of the recovered property is estimated at ₹36 lakh.
The arrested accused have been identified as Prasad Vinod Rajale (29), resident of Pirangut, Pune district and Chandan Arjun Singh (38), resident of Kudalwadi, Chikhali, Ali Ahmad Chaudhary (32), resident of Kudalwadi, Chikhali, Firoz Asgar Ali Khan (38), resident of Moshi, Kishankumar Subhashchandra Gupta (24), resident of Kudalwadi, Chikhali, Niyaz Mohammad Israil (51), resident of Mumbai
A case has been registered under Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at North Mahalunge MIDC Police Station.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of CP Vinoykumar Chaubey, Joint CP Dr Shashikant Mahavarkar, Additional CP Sarang Awhad, Additional CP (Regional) Basavraj Teli, DCP Shweta Khedkar, Zone 4, ACP Sachin Kadam, API Kalyan Ghadge, Raju Konekari, Amol Borate, Viithal Wadekar, Santosh Kale, Mangesh Kadam, Ganesh Gaikwad, Hari Randive, Shubham Khandagale, Mangesh Gholap, Sameer Mahat.
