In a shocking incident at Kharadi’s Khalsa Gym, a 13-year-old boy named Atik lost his breath and drowned while swimming with his friends. According to the deceased parents, Atik knew how to swim but the gymnasium’s swimming pool lacked any kind of supervision/lifeguard nearby at the time of the incident.

The swimming pool is located near Sangharsh chowk, Vadgaon Sheri.

Atik Natim Tamboli, living in Wadgaon Sheri, had left the house in the afternoon around 3 pm with his friends. While the others were unaware of Atik’s difficulty in the pool, his innocent friends reported it to the lifeguard after witnessing stillness inside the pool.  He was soon taken to a nearby hospital but it was too late and Atik was declared dead by the doctor.

“Our son had left in the afternoon with his friends to the swimming pool. After some time, we suddenly received a call saying that he’d been drowned due to dizziness,” expressed Atik’s father.

The parents have filed an official complaint against the owner of Khalsa Gym which has been closed for the time being. The Senior Inspector shared that the CCTV captured blurred footage of the incident and police are trying to investigate what went wrong. The body has been sent to the Sassoon Hospital for an autopsy report which is yet to come.
