Pune : 19 year old girl commits suicide as father scolds over phone addiction

In a tragic incident, the Ghodegaon area of Pune district was shaken when the news of a 19-year-old girl committing suicide was informed. She committed suicide by jumping off the terrace of her house. Initial investigations by police have revealed that the girl was reprimanded by her father for spending too much time on her phone while studying, causing her distress that led her to take this extreme step.

The incident came to light when the girl’s body was discovered on the ground on Tuesday morning and she was promptly taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead. The police authorities have launched an inquiry into the matter, and her body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.

According to police official Navnath Wayal, PSI, of Ghodegaon police station the deceased was a 12th-grade student and the only child of her parents, who are a businessman and housewife, respectively. We have filed a case of accidental death in this regard and further investigation is on.

This unfortunate incident serves as a tragic reminder of the significance of mental health and the necessity of showing empathy and support to our loved ones. It is critical to recognize and address stress and anxiety issues in young people, as failing to do so can have devastating consequences.
