Following cross-complaints by two groups in a road rage incident at AD Camp Chowk in Bhavani Peth around 4:45 pm on the same day, the Samarth police late on Monday night arrested seven people and booked four others.
According to a senior Samarth Police officer, three people were injured. All the 11 accused are members of two families who reside in Bhavani Peth and Nana Peth. All of them do odd jobs such as driving autorickshaws etc.
The officer further said that a 19-year-old boy was recklessly riding his two-wheeler and overtook a motorcyclist very closely. This resulted in a heated argument between the two riders, which quickly turned into a fight with sticks and stones after the riders’ families became involved.
The officer went on to say that following the filing of cases for voluntary harm, unlawful assembly, rioting, criminal intimidation, and abuse, the police have arrested seven people & are on the lookout for four more.
