Pune: 80 Players To Represent At First Edition Of PYC Snooker & Billiards League 2024

Pune, August 9, 2024: A total of 80 players will represent 6 teams in the First Edition of PYC Snooker & Billiards League 2024 that will be organised by the PYC Hindu Gymkhana and will be played at PYC Snooker & Billiards Hall from 12 and 18 August 2024. “We at the PYC host various leagues in different sports. For the first time, we are hosting a Snooker & Billiards league for its members.” Mr. Kumar Tamhane, President of PYC Hindu Gymkhana and Secretary of Snooker & Billiards Dept. said.

“We already host six leagues in cricket, badminton, football, basketball, chess and carom. We prioritize the health and recreation of the members. A  Snooker & Billiards league will provide another platform for our members to come together and bond over a sport,” Sarang Lagu, secretary of the club said.

Abhishek Tamhane added that, The players were selected via auction. Rohit Naargolkar(Jog Supreme Aces, 5100pts), Amit Bhadbhade(Seinumero Rockets, 5100pts), Karna Mehta(Cue Masters, 4900pts), Nishad Chaugule(Cue Masters,4500pts), Rajwardhan Joshi(Badamikar Stars, 4500pts), Aditya Deshpande(Skyline Strikers, 4000pts), Nimish Kulkarni(Jog Supreme Aces, 4000pts), Yogesh Lohiya(Seinumero Rockets, 4000pts) were the top picks.

The six teams are: Badamikar Strikers (owned by Siddhart Badamikar), Jog Supreme Comets (owned by Amol Jog & Parag Chopada), Skyline Warriors (Ameya Joshi), Seinumero Rockets (Tushar Mengale, Prashant Kulkarni), Supreme Aces(Sanjiv Patel), Cue Masters(owned by Amir Ajgaonkar).Mr.Nandan Dongre has been appointed as Tournament Director for this event, Mr.Abhishek Tamhane added.

A tournament committee comprising of Abhishek Tamhane, Ranjit Pande, Karna Mehta has been formed for the smooth conduct of the event.
