Pune: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organized a protest against Professor Ashok Dole of Symbiosis College, Senapati Bapat road who allegedly attempted to incite animosity among students through derogatory comments about Hindu deities. The protest took place within the college premises and called for appropriate action against him.

Ishan Abhyankar, a member of the ABVP said, ”Students enroll in this institution to acquire knowledge. It is disconcerting that Professor Ashok Dole consistently propagates hatred by making offensive statements about Hindu deities. This behaviour is not acceptable and should not be encouraged. We demand that the concerned professor should be promptly suspended, and an FIR should be filed against him.”

Aroha Kulkarni, a member of the ABVP, expressed that despite Symbiosis being a well-known college in Pune, incidents like these are still happening. Hindu deities are being insulted, as seen in a viral video clip circulating on social media. The college has not yet taken any action regarding this matter. There have been no statements or videos in the media regarding the professor’s suspension, and we faced difficulties when attempting to register an FIR.

Navnath Kawale, another member of the ABVP, emphasized the need for immediate action in this case. He asserted that an FIR should be registered against the professor responsible for spreading religious hatred.
