With the counting for the Pune and Baramati Lok Sabha constituencies scheduled for June 4, the district administration is intensifying its preparations. The counting will take place at three locations: the Food Corporation of India (FCI) godown at Koregaon Park for Pune, Balewadi Sports Complex for Maval, and Ranjangaon Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) godown for Shirur.

According to officials, a total of 1,704 staff members have been deployed for the counting process, with 372 tables reserved for the task. Resident Deputy Collector Jyoti Kadam emphasized the extensive arrangements in place to ensure a smooth counting process.

Pune District Collector Suhas Diwase held a meeting with poll officials to review the progress of training sessions for the counting staff. He reiterated the strict security measures, stating, “No one will be allowed within 100 metres of the premises except employees, candidate representatives, and officials. Only authorized staff will be permitted to carry mobile phones, laptops, or wireless sets in the counting area.”

These preparations are part of the district administration’s efforts to ensure a transparent and efficient counting process for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
