Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has reviewed the Home Department’s 100-day action plan, emphasizing the complete implementation of the Maharashtra Cyber Security Project to enhance governance, risk management, and compliance through artificial intelligence.

A key focus of the plan is the digitization of forensic science laboratories, with the first phase covering labs in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Regional forensic labs will also see the establishment of advanced data centers. Additional labs in Amravati, Kolhapur, Nanded, Thane, Dhule, Solapur, Ratnagiri, and Chandrapur are set to be digitized as part of the initiative.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to expedite this modernization effort and addressed the need for strengthening the Anti-Narcotics Task Force by creating new posts to combat the rising drug menace. Fadnavis also directed the swift construction of armed police posts in Naxal-affected areas to bolster security.

A new Maharashtra Prisons Manual, inspired by the central government’s framework, is also in the pipeline to standardize operations across correctional facilities.

The Pune forensic lab, a critical component of the justice system, is set to receive significant upgrades as part of the government’s modernization drive. Enhancements in cyber security, forensic services, and anti-naxal operations underline the government’s commitment to strengthening law enforcement and public safety across the state.

These measures reflect Maharashtra’s focus on leveraging technology to address security challenges and improve governance.
