Pune And Pimpri-Chinchwad Residents Get New Grievance System For Water Supply Issues
Due to inadequate water supply in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and PMRDA areas, Wagholi Housing Society Association and others filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL No. 126/2022) with the Bombay High Court. Many residents have been forced to buy water from external sources, highlighting the need for a reliable supply.
Following the court’s directive on April 10, 2023, a committee was formed under the chairmanship of the Divisional Commissioner, with representatives including the Commissioners of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporations, the Chief Engineer (Water Supply) of Pune Municipal Corporation, and the Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority.
To address citizen complaints related to water supply, the committee has now made an email grievance redressal system available. Accordingly, Pune Municipal Corporation has set up an email ID ([email protected]) where residents can submit complaints about water issues, complementing the existing complaint registration facilities.
