Pune: Armed Men in Masks Attempt Robbery at Housing Society in Dhanori
In a chilling incident that reminds many of the popular web series Money Heist, three masked and armed men entered a housing society in Pune, creating panic among residents.
The incident took place on April 8 at the Sidra Garden Cooperative Housing Society in the Dhanori area. Around 4 to 5 a.m., the trio, dressed in black clothes and wearing masks, entered the premises with weapons, including koytas (sickles), in hand.
Residents were shocked and frightened as the masked men roamed the society compound. Their suspicious movements were captured on CCTV cameras. In the footage, they are seen moving around the building, attempting to break into a flat.
The masked men did not manage to steal anything, but their presence caused fear and alarm among residents. The society has filed an official complaint with the Vishrantwadi Police Station. A copy has also been submitted to the Pune Police Commissioner.
“Between 4 and 5 in the morning, three unknown armed men illegally entered our building. They tried to enter a flat, causing panic among the residents,” the society’s complaint stated.
The incident has raised fresh concerns, especially when the city is already on edge due to frequent reports of the so-called ‘Koyta Gang’. The use of masks, black clothing, and weapons in this case strongly reminds people of the Money Heist series, where a gang commits robberies on the orders of a mastermind.
Police have started investigating the incident and are reviewing the CCTV footage for leads. Security in the area has been tightened, and residents have been urged to remain alert.
