PUNE: In a significant operation, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) apprehended two terrorists on July 18 in Pune who had been evading capture for the past 1.5 years. The arrest of Imran Khan and Mohammad Yunus Saki has revealed disturbing findings, as ATS seized crucial evidence from their flat.

While the third accomplice, Mohammad Shahnawaz (32), managed to escape, the ATS managed to recover valuable data from their hideout, amounting to 500GB. This data is now under analysis and has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for further examination.

In addition to the extensive data, the ATS made alarming discoveries within the flat. A bomb-making circuit was uncovered, suggesting the group’s intent to cause harm. Furthermore, the terrorists had already conducted bomb tests in nearby forests, raising serious concerns about their potential capabilities.

Additionally, the ATS discovered various chemicals in the flat, including chemical powder and charcoal, raising suspicions about their intentions to create explosive materials. The presence of a thermometer, dropper, soldering gun, multimeter, small bulb, battery, alarm watch, and a spanner commonly used for motorcycle theft further adds to the complexity of the case.

The investigation into the arrested terrorists and the evidence seized from their flat is ongoing, and authorities are working diligently to ascertain their plans and network connections. The ATS’s swift action has undoubtedly averted a potential disaster, but the threat posed by the escaped accomplice, Mohammad Shahnawaz, remains a top priority for the security forces.
