Pune, November 24, 2025: The Forest Department has clarified that the viral news claiming the leopard spotted in Aundh yesterday has been found today is completely false. Authorities have urged citizens not to believe or spread such unverified rumours, which are causing unnecessary panic in the area.

Officials and staff from the Forest Department, along with teams from ResQ Charitable Trust, are conducting continuous patrols in Aundh.

The search operation remains active, using thermal drone cameras, a dog squad, and other advanced equipment to locate the animal. Teams are also carrying out awareness drives to educate residents about safety and precautionary measures.

Despite widespread rumours, the leopard has not been sighted since 4:00 a.m. on November 23, and no fresh evidence has been reported. Authorities have also warned against circulating AI-generated photos of the leopard on social media, as it can lead to confusion and fear among the public.

Residents are advised to rely only on official updates from the authorities. Anyone who genuinely spots the leopard is requested to immediately contact the Forest Department helpline at 1926.
