Tired of complaining and writing to the civic authorities about inadequate water supply, improper road access, lack of infrastructure in Wagholi, Bakori Road residents now plan to hold a peaceful protest on January 20. The protest will start from Bakori Phata, near BJS College, Bakori road and will go on to Bakori Phata and reach Wagholi PMC office. The residents will also walk from the PMC office in Wagholi to the PMRDA and PMC main office.

“We have been raising issues with Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) as well as Pune Municipal Corporation but apart from assurances we haven’t received anything. All societies here are dependent on tanker water. We have no access road, and no facilities. Our struggle has been going on for the last 8 years. We haven’t received any service from PMC as well as Gram panchayat. As loyal taxpayers it’s our right to get services from the governing authority. Citizens need to unite to fight for their rights,” said  Anil Mishra, chairman, Neo City, Phase 1, Bakori road, Wagholi.
