Pune: Bavdhan Residents Irked by Loose Divider, Urge Urgent Fix

In Bavdhan, residents have faced commuting troubles due to two roads with two different levels. One road runs alongside Ramnadi, while the other parallels the highway. This mismatch in levels has caused inconvenience for commuters in the area.

In response to these grievances, the road department took action. They installed a tinted divider between the two roads to address the issue. However, today, Thursday, April 4, 2024, the divider has become loose.

This incident has reignited concerns among residents about the effectiveness of the solution provided by the road department. Many are worried that without a proper fix, the commuting troubles will persist, causing inconvenience and potential safety hazards for those traveling through the area.

Residents are urging authorities to promptly address the situation and ensure that a more permanent solution is implemented to overcome the commuting challenges faced by the community.

According to Swati Pisal, a member of Bavdhan Citizens Forum (BCF), “Earlier, people abruptly used to take a left turn from the highway road which used to cause a lot of accidents, and after several complaints, they fixed it, but not as we expected them to. Two days ago, the divider had loosened up a bit after which I had raised a complaint, and today it has come out and will cause numerous accidents if the issue is not addressed immediately.”

An official from PMC road department, on the condition of anonymity, said, “I will look into this matter myself, and the work will be completed tomorrow shortly.
