Pune: Biker’s Head Trapped Between Bus Stand Railings After Terrifying Late-Night Crash On Wakad-Hinjawadi BRT Road
Shock and disbelief spread across Pimpri-Chinchwad’s Wakad area after a bizarre yet serious accident took place in the early hours of Thursday. A high-speed collision left a biker’s head jammed between the metal railings of a bus stand on the Wakad–Bhosari BRTS Road.
The rider, identified as Ajit Laxman Kadu (32), a resident of Pimpri, was reportedly riding through the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route towards Hinjawadi when he lost control of his motorcycle. Police from Wakad Police Station said Kadu was traveling at a high speed when his bike crashed into the PMPML bus stand at Kaspate Wasti. The violent impact caused his motorcycle to fall sideways, forcing his head into the iron railings of the bus stop.
Witnesses quickly alerted the authorities, and a video of the incident’s aftermath—now viral on social media—shows Kadu surrounded by police officers, struggling to free his head. After a few tense moments, police and bystanders managed to pull him out safely from the railings.
Investigators confirmed that Kadu was not wearing a helmet, which could have prevented or reduced the severity of his injuries. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is being treated for head trauma. A case of reckless driving has been registered, and officials are also checking whether drunk driving was a contributing factor in the crash.
