A tragic incident occurred in Maval taluka as the old bridge over the Indrayani River at the popular tourist spot Kundmala, near Talegaon Dabhade, collapsed on Sunday. The area, usually crowded with tourists during weekends, witnessed chaos after the sudden collapse, leading to fears that 25 to 30 tourists may have drowned in the river.
Upon receiving information about the incident, local police, villagers, and disaster response teams rushed to the scene and launched a rescue operation. The Maval region has been experiencing heavy rainfall over the past two days, causing a significant rise in the water level of the Indrayani River. Authorities are making every possible effort to rescue those who may have fallen into the river during the collapse.
