Pune: Pune Cantonment Board has announced its election program for the upcoming general elections, which are set to take place on April 30th. The Chief Executive Officer of Pune Cantonment, Subrat Pal, released the program today, stating that new voters can register between March 1st and 3rd, with the list of new voters to be published on the notice board on March 6th. Suggestions and objections regarding the list will be taken on a hearing scheduled for March 13th and 14th before the Cantonment President. The final voter list will be released on March 18th.

Nomination forms will be distributed from March 16th to 18th, and can be submitted on March 20th and 21st. The official candidate names will be released on March 21st after 5 pm, with candidates able to verify their names and complain on March 23rd. March 24th is the deadline for the withdrawal of candidature applications, and the final list of withdrawn candidates will be published on March 29th.

Postal voter registration has been scheduled for March 20th and 21st. On April 30th, voting will take place from 7 am to 6 pm in various schools in the cantonment area. The total number of registered voters for all eight wards is 37,202.

The election will be held as per the 2011 census, with the board dividing the cantonment area into eight wards. Ward numbers 2, 5, and 6 are reserved for women, while ward number 4 is reserved for scheduled castes. Ward numbers 1, 3, 7, and 8 will be open for the general public.

According to an official notice issued by Pune Cantonment, the counting of votes will take place on polling day night after 10 pm, or after 8 am the next morning. The election program has been eagerly awaited by citizens, and now that it has been announced, preparations for the upcoming general elections in Pune Cantonment can proceed in earnest.
