A Congress Youth Party meeting convened on the evening of Monday, February 26, 2024 wherein a demonstration was staged by party members in support of the farmers’ agitation on the Delhi-Haryana border which culminated in a protest at Balgandharva Chowk on Jangli Maharaj Road. The demonstration took a fervent turn as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s effigy was set ablaze, reflecting the growing discontent towards the Modi Government.

The protest aimed to extend solidarity with the ongoing farmers’ agitation at the Delhi-Haryana Border. However, tensions escalated, drawing the attention of Senior Police Inspector Vipin Hasbanis, Sub Inspector Mahesh Bhosle, and Dattatray Sawant, who intervened to quell the unrest.

The disruptive activities of these activists were promptly curtailed by the authorities from Deccan Police Station. Subsequently, the activists involved were escorted to the police station premises for further questioning.

In the aftermath, legal action has been initiated against the identified activists, namely, Rishikesh Alias Bunty Baba Shelke, Prathamesh Vikas Abnave, Eshan Ahmed Khan, Murlidhar Siddharam Budharamas, and Rahul Duryodhan Shirsat.
