Pune: In a bid to demand the long pending trade margin arrears, the Compressed Natural Gas pump operators in Pune City have decided to go on a strike and stop the sale of CNG from August 10, 2023.

As per the information received, there are a total of 42 vendors selling CNG in the Pune district.  The arrears have gone up to around Rs 7 crore.

Pune-based Petrol Dealers Association oil companies and torrent gas have not received their dues despite several letters. As a result, the association has decided to go on strike and stop its sale until the trade margin is returned to them. Due to this, CNG will not be available at the pump after August 10.

It is worthy to note that CNG cars have come as an alternative to petrol as they cause less pollution and have low maintenance.
