The Congress Central Election Committee convened a pivotal meeting in Delhi. An important resolution was reached concerning the allocation of Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra. The Congress party is preparing to contest all 18 seats in Maharashtra, with deliberations in the meeting centered on the selection of candidates for these constituencies.

Particularly noteworthy were the discussions surrounding the selection of the Maha Vikas Aghadi candidate for Pune. Consideration was given to offering the candidacy to NCP leader Vasant More, contingent upon his withdrawal from the alliance. However, the Pune candidate’s name has now been finalized in the Congress list, indicating the party’s intent to contest against Maha Vikas Aghadi in Pune. Sources report that Congress MLA Ravindra Dhangekar’s name has been confirmed for the Pune Lok Sabha constituency.

According to sourced information, Praniti Shinde from Solapur and Ravindra Dhangekar from Pune have secured candidature. Additionally, Balwant Vanakhe from Amravati, Ke. C. Padvi from Nandurbar, Chiranjeev from Chandrapur, and Namdev Usendi from Gadchiroli have been officially nominated. There are emerging reports regarding the candidature of Shahu Maharaj in Kolhapur. The official list of Congress candidates is expected to be announced tomorrow or the day after, with a focus on the entire state of Maharashtra.

Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar said “There is no more room for debate. Discussions have begun for two or three seats, with the final decision pending. Tomorrow morning, leaders of the Mahavikas Aghadi will convene, and a decision will be reached.”
