Pune: Covishield vaccine available at PMC and PCMC vaccination centres

Pune: Pune Municipal Corporation and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation have received the stock of Covisheild vaccines. After the rise of Covid cases in other countries including China, Japan, Singapore the precautionary steps are being taken in India. 

Government authorities are appealing to citizens to get their pending doses of the vaccines. While PMC has received 12,000 vaccine doses from the government which will be available at 21 vaccination centres, PCMC has received 8,500 vaccine doses which are being administered at 8 centres. 

Suryakant Devkar, vaccination head of PMC said, “After a gap of over one and half months, the Covisheild vaccine is available at PMC vaccination centres. The current stock of the doses will last till February 20 in PMC. We appeal to citizens to get their second and booster doses. People were inquiring about the vaccine availability when news about COVID cases in other countries emerged.” 

Dr Laxman Gophane, PCMC medical department head, said, “We have received 8,500 Covishield vaccine doses and have started administering the vaccine at 8 centres from January 18. Each center has been given 50p vaccine doses. But the response of citizens for vaccination drive is very poor. We appeal to people to get their pending doses.”
