Pune:  A 27-year-old man set 13 motorcycles on fire in a residential society’s parking lot in Pimple Nilakh after his mother refused to give him money for alcohol. The shocking incident, which occurred in the early hours of March 5, was caught on camera and has since gone viral on social media.

Following a complaint by a 62-year-old resident of the same building, a case has been registered at the Sanghvi Police Station.

The accused, identified as Swapnil Shivsharan Pawar, is reportedly an alcoholic who frequently harassed his parents and brother. According to police officials, Pawar had a heated argument with his mother late Tuesday night.

Around 3:30 am on Wednesday, in a fit of rage, he allegedly set fire to his mother’s and brother’s two-wheelers. The blaze quickly spread, damaging 11 more vehicles in the society’s parking area.
