Pune: Customers Assaults Vendor for Serving Cold Vada Pav in Balewadi
Pune has a unique bond with vada pav, a favorite snack enjoyed by locals, who expect it to be served piping hot. However, a recent incident took an unusual turn when a customer reacted aggressively upon receiving a cold vada pav, leading to an assault on the vendor. The altercation occurred in Balewadi, where a customer, in a fit of rage, allegedly threw a glass jar at the snack vendor over the cold serving.
According to reports, the incident involved not only the glass jar but also a thermos of tea, which the customer and his companions hurled and damaged during the altercation. Prakashchandra Shankarlal Joshi (45), the owner of Shivkrupa Snacks Center at Sai Chowk, Balewadi, reported the incident at Baner Police Station. Based on his complaint, a case has been registered against Ankush Kondiba Dhebe (23) and his two friends.
Police sources state that Dhebe and his friends arrived at the snack center around noon, ordered vada pav, and began arguing after finding it served cold. The disagreement soon escalated, with the suspects allegedly throwing a tea thermos on the ground and smashing it. Dhebe then reportedly grabbed a glass jar from the counter and hurled it at Joshi, injuring him on his head and hand. Following the assault, the trio fled the scene.
The incident, triggered by a cold vada pav, has become a topic of local discussion. Baner Police are currently investigating the matter.
