Pune: Deadline Extended For Applications For Diploma In Arts To July 5
PUNE: The Directorate of Art, Government of Maharashtra, has extended the application deadline for its diploma courses in arts to July 5, following a lower-than-expected number of submissions by the initial cutoff date of June 20.
These diploma programmes, ranging from one to three years, are open to students who have completed their Class 10 (SSC). The courses are offered across government, government-aided, unaided, and permanently unaided art institutions throughout Maharashtra.
To improve outreach and encourage more students to apply, the state government has sent SMS alerts to over 1.2 lakh students, informing them of the extended deadline and application process.
“The arts sector holds vast creative and career opportunities. We want to ensure that every eligible student gets a fair chance to pursue these courses,” said Chandrakant Patil, Minister for Higher and Technical Education. “We urge students and parents to make the most of this opportunity.”
Revised Admission Schedule:
- Provisional Merit List: July 8
- Grievance Submission Deadline: July 9 (via student login portal)
- Final Merit List: July 14
- Admission Window: July 15 to July 18 at allotted colleges
Students are advised to complete their applications before the extended deadline to ensure consideration for admission in the upcoming academic cycle.
