Pune: The commuters in Dhanori have to face a lot of problems with potholes and water logging while commuting on Kalwad Road, leading to traffic congestion in the area.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Ashish Jakkillu, commuter and office owner, Kalwad Road, Dhanori said, “Kalwad Road comes just before Dhanori Jakat Naka. A lot of potholes are there on the 1 km stretch. Water logging happens every day. New potholes are created every day due to rain. The PMC had come here and did the tarring work. However, since 1 month, the entire tarring has been washed away and it has gone back to its previous condition. Nobody is paying attention to this.”

Randhir Rathod, a commuter, of Kalwad Road said, “This road is very narrow. Additionally,  there is a 2-way traffic running on it. It has become a menace to commute on this street every day. There are a lot of potholes on this road. The PMC has not done anything about it.”

Rakesh Pharne, a resident of Dighi and Commuter of Kalwad Road said, “The narrow road makes life difficult for me due to two-way traffic, potholes, water logging and much more. Travelling on these bumps has become a serious headache. Who knows when a permanent solution about filling these potholes and smoothening the road will take place.”

Pune Pulse tried contacting the relevant PMC official but couldn’t connect till the filing of this report.
