Pune District Ambulance Association Takes Action Against Illegal Ambulances
In a bid to ensure genuine emergency services, the Pune District Ambulance Association has taken a significant step by sending an official letter to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) to address the issue of illegal ambulances operating in Pimpri-Chinchwad.
The association’s efforts have led to inspections of vehicles, resulting in many drivers completing their fitness certifications. The association’s members, who regularly fulfill fitness and documentation requirements, are committed to minimizing inconvenience to patients and their families.
The RTO has also taken action, conducting vehicle inspections and issuing notices for faults found. Inspections are also carried out following complaints, and relevant parties have been notified about fitness certificates for ambulances.
This collaborative effort aims to curb the unauthorized use of ambulances, which has increased since the COVID-19 pandemic. With the rise of private hospitals, many ambulances fail to meet necessary requirements, putting patients at risk.
The association’s initiative and the RTO’s response are commendable steps towards ensuring that ambulances operate legally and safely, providing genuine emergency services to those in need.
