Pune: District Collector Enforces Prohibitory Orders To Ensure Fair SSC And HSC Board Exams
Pune, February 9, 2026: In preparation for the upcoming Class 10 (SSC) and Class 12 (HSC) board examinations, Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi has announced the implementation of prohibitory orders across the rural areas of the district. The decision aims to maintain discipline and prevent any form of malpractice during the exams.
According to the official directive, the restrictions will be effective from 6:00 am on February 10 to 8:00 pm on March 18, 2026, covering all secondary and higher secondary examination centres in Pune rural district. During this period, the presence of unauthorised individuals within a 100-metre radius of exam centres is strictly prohibited. Additionally, gatherings of two or more people in the restricted zone will not be allowed.
However, students appearing for the examinations, authorised exam officials, staff members, police personnel, and security staff have been exempted from these restrictions.
The district administration has also ordered the temporary closure of public telephones, fax services, photocopy centres, internet facilities, and other communication services located within 100 metres of examination venues throughout the examination period.
Further, the use or possession of mobile phones, wireless devices, radios, transistors, calculators, laptops, and similar electronic equipment near examination centres or within restricted areas has been banned.
Authorities have cautioned that anyone found violating these orders will face strict legal action under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Officials confirmed that the HSC examinations will begin on February 10, followed by the SSC examinations starting February 20. To strengthen monitoring and curb unfair practices, the Maharashtra State Board will roll out a statewide ‘copy-free campaign’, making CCTV surveillance mandatory at all exam centres. Where CCTV systems are unavailable, staff reshuffling will be implemented.
Additional security arrangements include drone surveillance, police deployment, flying squads, and static patrol teams to ensure transparency and the smooth conduct of the examinations.
